When Lexi first reached out to inquire, she mentioned how important her bride and groom portraits were. She knew she wanted a location that offered a lot of oak trees and other gorgeous photo locations. Thankfully, I knew the perfect location…Protea Weddings and Events! This Ocala Wedding at Protea Weddings & Events couldn’t have been more perfect!

Lexi and Ryan are actually photographers themselves and spend a lot of their time traveling around the country photographing world championship horse shows. This time however, they were on the other side of the camera. Not only is it great to photograph weddings, but it’s always an extra honor when other photographers chose to hire you for their special moments. Not only were Lexi and Ryan wonderful to work with, but I loved learning about their love story, what they do for a living and just behind around them.

Bride and Groom Portraits at Protea Weddings & Events

Lexi and Ryan decided to have an intimate ceremony at their home in Dunnellon, FL, but they wanted portraits elsewhere beforehand. As I mentioned above, Protea Weddings and Events was the absolute perfect location for this. We started off at Protea where they shared their first look and special vows with one another, before moving into portraits. Their portraits were nothing short of magical as we took photos around the pond, under the oak trees and up by the main barn. They were both so natural at posing and simply loving on each other!

Intimate Ceremony in Dunnellon, FL

Once portraits were over, we headed to their home in Dunnellon, FL where they had cleared out a beautiful spot on their property for a sweet and simple ceremony. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they became husband and wife and I couldn’t be happier for them! One of my favorite parts was when Tessa (the australian shepherd you see) sneaked into a few photos during the ceremony and right after! She was actually supposed to carry the rings down the aisle but they decided last minute that she could get a front row seat instead. I thought she made the perfect photo bomb and they did too!

Lexi and Ryan, I am so happy I was able to be a part of this special time in your lives and your Ocala Wedding at Protea Weddings & Events. I’m so excited to see your love grow and cannot wait to see where life takes you both! Thank you so much!
