Melissa & Garrett’s Grace River Island Resort Wedding in Fort Myers, FL was simply amazing in every single way. Every single person there was such a joy to be around and all the vendors were absolutely amazing to work with! It’s going to be hard to narrow down only a few things to tell you about this wedding!
Right from the beginning, Melissa and Garrett had a special spot in my heart. I had photographed her family before since I was good friends with one of her sisters, Danyell. Little did I know that years later I would be her wedding photographer! I saw Melissa and Garrett’s engagement post on Instagram and instantly congratulated them and wondered if I would pop into her head. Sure enough, Danyell (her sister) reached out to me and said they were going to do a Destination wedding in Florida and wondered if I was available. I was and she booked right away. Not only was I excited to be her photographer, but I was so excited to see her family again! They are some of the most fun, genuine and kind people I’ve ever met.
Wedding Day at Grace River Island Resort
When their wedding day finally came, I was so excited to walk in and see everyone! Melissa looked STUNNING, full of smiles and laughter. She has one of those personalities that lights up any room. Watching her get ready with all of her friends and family was so special. I felt so grateful to be able to capture their special moments as both a friend and a professional.
Garrett and his friends and family were equally as special and fun to work with. When he was getting ready, there were a few heartfelt moments between him and his parents honoring his late grandmother. A surprise gift from Melissa, she had his grandmother’s photo printed on the back of his boutonniere. We all knew she was there in spirit on their wedding day.
Right before the ceremony, Melissa and Garrett had a “First Touch” underneath the beautiful oak tree where they read their vows to each other. There were smiles, happy tears, and laughter. It was a beautiful moment to witness indeed. A short while later, they saw each other for the first time when Melissa walked down the aisle with her dad. The smile on Garrett and Melissa’s faces said everything anyone needed to know.
The rest of the day was a happy blur of gorgeous portraits, dancing filled with laughter and happy tears, the best toasts, delicious cake, and dancing to their heart’s content. Their Grace River Island Wedding was a huge success and I wish them nothing but complete happiness for a very long time! Congratulations Melissa & Garrett!
