Brooke and Curt’s Honeymoon Island Maternity Photos were absolutely beautiful! We had the prettiest sunset and I loved seeing them again! Brooke and Curt are a past wedding couple of mine from 2022 in Indiana, so it was great to spend some time with them and catch up. This time was especially exciting because they were expecting their first baby!

Honeymoon Island State Park, Florida

When we were planning their maternity session, Brooke mentioned how she wanted photos on the beach, but also wanted a few photos that made it look like a field or felt more like home (which is Indiana.) After looking through my list of locations, I knew that Honeymoon Island State Park would be a great fit! Honeymoon Island is a beautiful state park in Dunedin, Florida. It’s close to Tampa and Clearwater, which makes it a great location for tourists and locals alike. It’s known for its abundance of wildlife, trails, and beautiful beaches. They even have a dog beach!

Unexpected Guests

When we started their session, our first stop was the grassy field, which was right across the parking lot from the beach. The sun was just starting to sink behind the tree line and it gave the field a dreamy look. Unfortunately, this turned into a mosquito heaven and we only spent about 3 minutes here before heading to the beach. It was crazy because I checked this spot before the session and there were no mosquitos! Thankfully I had my mosquito spray with me (like I always do) and we all made it out alive. Haha!

The Perfect Gender Neutral Dress

As we made our way to the beach, I couldn’t help but compliment Brooke on her dress. It was the most beautiful dress for their gender-neutral maternity session. It was a long, white maxi dress with dainty pastel florals. The Prettiest Sunset for Honeymoon Island Maternity Photos

We timed their session perfectly, and the sun was starting to go down as we finished up their first outfit. The sunsets on the Gulf never disappoint me! This sunset had pinks, oranges, and soft blues. The waves were gently rolling in and the shore was filled with beautiful shells. It was a perfect evening to be on the beach. I will admit though, there might have been too many shells to walk on. Curt had a bit of a hard time walking on them, but we all had a good laugh and I didn’t make him walk too far. Haha! However, looking at the photos, you would never be able to tell!

As their session came to an end, I couldn’t help but feel so happy and excited for them. They were going to be parents and I knew they would be great ones. They are two of the most kind-hearted, funny, genuine, and all-around incredible people. I’m so excited to see them step into parenthood and follow along in their journey!
